if you took the Pats to go 19-0 prior to the beginning of the season?

Someone here at the office is trying to tell me their roommate put a hundred on the Pats to do just that, at TWELVE THOUSAND TO ONE, and that the casino called them on Saturday to offer them $750K as a payoff prior to the game. And that they didn't take it, therefore losing the bet.

12,000:1 sounds ludicrous to me, but could it be true?

750k sure thing vs a $1.2m "chance"? no question.

Based on how the pats were playing up until last night, and having only committed $125 I would have declined the offer at a <very good> possibility of winning $1.5M.

It's a no brainer. At that point, you're risking so little to win so much. (who knew that the offensive line were all going to chug ambien prior to the game?)

Surprised the casino would call and offer such a high %age of the possible winnings.

I would think they would offer roughly half.

Still... at 100 bucks... the "pot" odds say keep your money in hands down.

With a $1500 dollar bet though... IDK...

I had placed the bet, the payoff wasn't as high as you'd expect, only 45:1.
