View Full Version : Big thanks to Ray Khan for the use of his 3366 tool. xtreetoes 09-11-2007, 07:16 AM Now if I can figure out where all these parts go I may be able to dive my allroad again. <img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/80294/tbjob.jpg"> Ray Khan 09-11-2007, 10:00 AM just have to install the bearing caps and valve cover gasket and I'll be ready to go....of course after I find that damn nail I dropped. CP 09-11-2007, 06:43 PM Still can't get the metal out from on top of the cylinder? Are you sure there's anything even in there? Ray Khan 09-12-2007, 05:22 AM I also picked up a new telescoping magnet for you since yours snapped on me. I ordered some flexible ones for myself. The magnet I got last night has a head about the same width as the pan head screw I dropped and I can't even get it between the valve springs. So I'm having more and more doubt the screw made it in there. It's at least 1 and 1/4" long with a good sized pan head. After I exhaust the magnet possibilities I plan to use some compressed air source to blow things around in there and try to hear the screw rattle to locate it. If that fails then I'll do an oil change and see if anything comes out there (switching to dino and doing the Auto RX treatment). If I can't find it at that point, I'll slap the bearing caps back on and roll the car in gear and listen for anything out of the ordinary. After that, I'll have to brave it and just start the car. Does your air tank have a fitting like a compressor where I can blow air from the hose? If so can I borrow it? |
