Going to be up there for a couple of days in August and was wondering? Like beaches, attractions, places to eat, etc.

...just ask and people will direct you. Down by the waterfront is a great area. Lots of art galleries/shops/restaurants.

Check out the floating resturaunt (in the harbor... also celeb's yachts are docked there, Johnny Depp and Leonardo DeCaprio's were there when I was this weekend), the lighthouses (there are 3 in portland), there is just so many little shops and so much to do up there, its a great NE town! There is a really cool English Pub too! I forget the name but its RED brick... check that out as well, all english food, really neat... and of course if you get board, old orchard beach is about 20 min up the road...
