so my dad comes up to me and starts bragging about how amazing of a test drive he had in a 2002 BMW 745i.... i want to prove to him that audi can blow him away. If I were to take him to the dealership to test drive any audi, what model would you guys reccommend and with what trim to impress him with the comfort/power?

try comparing similar cars. For instance, dont put him in an S4 with a 6spd, as that is apples to oranges with the 7series/A8 and would be a horrible comparo.

Apples to apples here. Take him in, let him sit in a real nice new Audi A8. The interiors have NO comparison. You can even ask the sales people at BMW. Have him sit in it, and you should see the smile on his face grow.

many would argue that BMW and Audi are not direct competitors despite similarities between the A4/S4 and 3 series, A6, etc etc. Audi interior will always be more refined IMHO, but then again, BMW lives up to the performance hype very very well.
