The tech went over the car with pretty good detail and the only thing that they found that needed to be replaced were the rear brake pads. They said they were out of tolerance by like 1mm so by pushing the car's mileage to 49,970 before I came in for the service probably meant that I wore just enough more pad off to warrant the replacement under the warranty.

Also I had an impromptu GTG with Audiciously who was in for his B7 2.0T Avant's 5K service. It was great having someone around to chat with, made the 2 1/2 hour service go by much faster. Kinda ironic that I just had met him Thursday night at the GTG and then, boom, there he was at Clair. Had I not met him at the GTG I wouldn't had known him from Jobe and been left to myself pacing the floor. We chatted about everything and anything audi, checked out the cars on the showroom floor (The black B7 S4 they had on the floor is sweet), and saw one customer first test drive a B7 S4 and then a B6 S4 Cab (by the way he was working the cell phone after the test drive you've got to figure that he was begging his wife for permission to buy one today). That Nogaro Blue B6 S4 is still there just begging to be driven.

Back the the service. Picked the car up and later that afternoon at 5:37pm she clicked to 50,000 and to my delight kept on running. The 1st 50K have been a blast.... here's looking forward to the next 50K.

painted calipers???

"Sorry, Mr. Madman, we see you've modified the braking system, resulting in an invalidated warranty"

with the rear calipers hanging in the breeze as they were replacing the pads. (side note: when I saw the rear calipers hanging there I wish I had some of the caliper paint with me so I could paint the back sides of the calipers which I reach previously.

I was more worried about if the service tech had said something about the control arms or something related to the suspension being broken to the point where they would come back and say to me... "We're sorry Mr. "M"AdMan but your aftermarket suspension has voided the warranty on several items which need replacing so I guess you brougt your check book, correct."
