Hi all,

So, my '03 A4 is again being taken to Clair Audi for repairs, only this time they're actually picking up the car at my work and leaving me an Audi loaner.

It all started a few months ago when a coil pack went. Due to where I was, it was taken to Brookline Audi and fixed. The next day, the same coil pack broke and was again replaced by Brookline Audi.

After that, it drove fine for a while but then started driving differently. Took it to Brookline Audi, checked out fine. Took it to Clair Audi, checked out fine. Took it to Awadd9, he discovered a coil pack was 2-3" out of the hole. Pushed it back in, drove fine.

About a month ago, the sunroof started opening by itself, one of the speakers was cutting in and out, the tow hook cover disappeared, and the floor vents were cracked and peeling. Clair Audi didn't have any parts in stock for my appointment, so I went in again the next week, had it all fixed. Sunroof potentiometer replaced, speaker replaced, tow hook cover added, and new vents added.

Last weekend, the driver's window and passenger window wouldn't go down using the driver's switches and the speaker was still cutting out. Went to Clair again, had the switched replaced, and they discovered one of the wires on the speakers wasn't fully attached, so they reattached it.

Couple days ago, noticed they didn't put the door panel on right after they replaced the speaker and the speaker is *still* cutting in and out. I spoke to Steve at Clair Audi who is intimately familiar with how often I've been to there over the past couple months. He offered to drive to my work, pick up my car, leave me an Audi loaner, and drive my car back for service. I definitely took him up on it. It's due to be fixed next Tuesday. The door is being fixed and they may be replacing the head unit on the sterro. I'm only hoping this is the last time I see them for a while. As nice as they are, I hate the time we spend together.

As much as I love my car, way too many things have broken on it. I don't know whether the '03s are this buggy or if I just got lucky and got the one that bypassed QA entirely. My lease is up in a year, and I'd love to go with another Audi but couldn't stand this much being wrong with it for another 3 years. *sigh*

Oh well, it's going to be a nice weekend and my sis is in town. So, at least the car is operating during her stay. I'll worry about the problems with my car next week...

I had the same problem(s) - not the same mechanical problems, but the same problems in that I kept having malfunctions and was literally at the Stealership(s) every few weeks. It suuuuuuuuuuuucked.

Do what I did and you will rest easy knowing that someone FINALLY knows what they're doing and isn't going to arse-rape you. Get yourself a REAL audi mechanic near home. I don't know where you live, but I simply can't recommend Status Auto in Londonderry highly enough. Anthony and Jeremy are just freakin' SWEET. They did the biggie - the timing belt dealie - and I paid about 50% of what the Stealership charges for the same thing. Add to that the fact that I have no more malfunctions and my baby runs AWESOME. I will NOT take her anywhere else, EVER, for any reason. Those guys RAWK.

I don't work for them, I don't know them personally, I don't have any personal stake in the matter, I'm just so damn thankful that I finally found people to handle my Audi the way it SHOULD be, and they've saved me innumerable headaches and probably a big ole pile of money too.
