I think I need to have the dealer work on my car. I've tried a bunch of things on my own, and nothing is doing the trick. The closest Audi dealer to me is Pass & Weiss in Burlington; are they good? The only experience I've had with them was buying parts, and they seemed ok.

Thanks for the info,
Mike.

..I've found great comfort in meeting directly with my service tech on specific issues. Those guys are always much more fun to deal with than the Service Managers.

Good luck!!

Hi
This is a great site, so please don't take what I gotta say in any bad way. But... www.audifriends.com has a list of good and bad mechanics. Basically EVERY Massachusetts dealer is on the bad list. There are some real horror stories in there about Pass and Weiss. In fact I got an earful about them from the guy I bought my car from. They misdiagnosed the smell of a plastic bag on the cars exhaust as an oil leak and after three visits they replaced all the usually seals, belly pan gaskets and possibly even the head gaskets. This was AFTER he told them to please check for plastic on the exhaust (the seller is also a friend!). I believe that this matter is still in court. Oh, I have two more friends with audi's that have bad reports about P&W service

Anyways, there are a lot of independent garages that did get excellent reviews

Good luck

I don't normally like to dis people, but my friend has taken his Boxster S there several times for service (he bought it there), and has had problems with mis-diagnosis and general idiocy every time. He's stuck there with his Porsche b/c those dealers are few and far between.
Bernardi has always been good to me (2000 A6 2.7T), but I haven't had any major engine work done there.

I've got a friend who has his Porsche serviced there, and he loves them. 'Course the Porsche hasn't needed anything other than oil changes.

I had an almost awful experience there. My car threw a fan belt in my office parking lot which is right around the corner from them. When I called, they were reluctant to even let me bring it in. Then they relented and said I could bring it in, but that it would take 3 hours to replace the belt. I declined, and haven't called them since. This was an older Audi. Takes 10 minutes. I replaced it myself in 30 minutes because I'm a lousy mechanic.
