We are in the market for a new wagon and are looking at the A4. If you have experience with Eastern Mass Audi dealers, I would appreciate your opinions. Who is good on the sales side? Who is good for service?

Thanks

But that's probably further west than you wanted to go anyway.

mine at IRA. Professional and friendly people. They were tops in sales (help, patience, overall deal, etc.) There service is good and done when promised (only been in once for service).
When you're ready to test drive AND buy call George Maria at IRA (Sales Mgr) early in the day. Tell him I sent you (see below) and tell him you want to make a deal that day. He'll probably want you to come in first and may refer you to someone else, but if you want a car that you've seen on his lot, and you make that clear to him, he'll probably start the deal with the best $$ your going to get from them - or very close to the best $$. If you don't/can't get George ask for Lester (great salesman) and tell him the same thing.
Best of luck!!
Tell 'em Theo (2000 Imola S4) sent you!

Should I keep going?

Bernardi does everything bad that a dealer can do. This has been my experience and I know of many others on this forum and IRL who have had equally bad experiences with them.

Thanks for the responses. I too have had bad experiences with Bernardi. Although they are the closest dealer to me, I plan to stay away. I found that the salesmen were "American car dealer" pushy and ignorant of the product and the service writer knew nothing about the cars or what service was required. Oh yeah, the parts counter guy was rude as well.

Anyone have any experience with Pass & Weiz in Burlington?

Thanks again

Ira has been great, as others have outlined below. P&W has a great service department. They are quite knowledgable, take the time to explain problems about your car to you, and are good at keeping on schedule. However, they sell every Audi they get their hands on, so don't expect too much of a bargain from the sales people. If you do go there, ask for Bill Briggs. He has decades of Audi experience and is one of the few salesmen I have ever met that can calculate a lease for you by hand, i.e. he understands where the payment comes from.

Michael Peterson was my salesman, he was very helpful and knowledgable. As for service, I can't say. I live in So.NH so taking my car to Clair for service would be too long of a haul. Waiting for Porsche/Audi of Nashua to open up, I'll check them out. Good luck with the car search!!!!

I called IRA for clutch install prices, originally quoted $450 for 6-8hrs labor, then when I called to schedule the service manager said it could take 10-20hrs! Even after explaining that I was just putting in an upgraded clutch for a S3 & didn't need anything else. So I went with AE Park who I used before. They said $750 & it ended up being $700. I was really disappointed in IRA after people had given them good reviews.

the said AoA would cover my broken (out of warranty) airbag without me asking. Then the tech did a great job noting that my t-belt would need to be done soon because he could hear it flapping around in the engine (even took me out out to show me the sound). And they "cleaned up" the wiring of my aftermarket fogs for no charge once when it was in there.

After all, **** happens.

BUT, every time my car has been to Bernardi, they have sucked. They screwed up my tires, my radio faceplate, misdiagnosed a bad vacuum line, lied about my headlight washers, etc etc etc. These were all seperate incidents, too.

Again, if there was only one screw up, I'd just say '**** happens' and forget it happened.

we bought a Passat at Bernardi and the experience was shockingly good. We had heard such bad things that we almost didn't go there at all. They gave us the price we were looking for on both the new car and the trade-in. It's never gone back for service there.

I bought my A4 from Ira. The buying experience could have been better but wasn't horrible. Service wise they've been good.

hey there-
i'm new to the forum, and don't know if i should post this, or whether it's going to cause hailstorms and massive flaming to rain upon me...but i'm just getting started at bernardi in sales [fill in the blank with euphemism for salesperson]and while i understand that peoples' experiences may not have been great, or at the least varied, i would ask that you give me a chance, as a fellow audi enthusiast, to make things right for you in the future--sales-wise or in service--just email me from my sig and i'll do whatever is in my power to take care of you...til then...jp...*i* won't disappoint, and will try to make sure no one else does either...that's the best i can offer...peeeece!
