I swapped the rotors and pads on my 01 s4 last night. The 18mm caliper bolts were not too bad. A little extra leverage using a gas pipe from HD did the trick nicely. Unfortunately both rotors were frozen stuck on there. I have done a quite a few brake jobs in the past but never had it this tough. The cars from the midwest rust belt gave me less trouble. This car has never left Colorado. I used a ton of PB and let it soak still and no go. I have never had to hit a rotor as hard and long as I did with this one. There are chunks of the rotors broken, bent and mangled. Finally came off. New brembo OEMs and akebono ceramics are working great finally. Really like the outcome. Just had to vent about the rotors.
