I was just driving around today and noticed a whin at low RPMs that seems to go away once the rpms increse . I think my trusted K03s are gone . I made it to 118k but want to have them rebuilt to k03/k04 hybrids and press on for a few more years . I have contacted audi and for what they charge to replace stock turbos , I should just fly the car to the factory . well, I have access to a full shop in the spring but would like some help on this one . Anyone interested , hit me up .

Or blow a sh!t load of smoke. If you are going replace them, do yourself a favor and go with some PJ K04s or RS6 K04s. I wouldn't run a hybrid K03 if they were new and given to me. I can help if you want to swap turbos though. I did this on my car. Ph 303-748-8080. Let me know.

That's just a complete waste. Put in straight K04's. They make more power and are more reliable.

it still pulls hard but that whine drives me crazy . There is not any smoke at all .

It is definately on its way, but it isn't a loud siren sound yet. It could last another 50,000 mile or 10 miles. They are too hard to predict. I would get that rack fixed though.

I wouldn't rebuild K03's. And pulling the S4 engine is cake. The whole front end of the car comes off and you just pull it right out. The worst part is taking off the stupid allen bolts on the prop shaft.

a couple months ago with fine metal shavings through the entire motor. Needless to say the Cash he had saved up for K04 upgrade went to K03's and prepping the car to sell :(

Ultimately it's a risk that he is going to have to descide whether or not he wants to take. I would be interested to hear how many people have had this issue with blown K03s. I'm not going to tell him to take the chance though.
