View Full Version : Solved my lean spike. My Green Giants @ 4bar were to small....

I did some research and called around to a number of injector shops and was informed that Green Giants do indeed flow 520cc/m @ 4 bar and 560cc/m @ 5bar. I installed a 5 bar FPR from Vast and then pulled out -10% of primary fuel with the lemmi. Lean spike solved. :)
This actually means I was flowing FAR more air than I thought I was. I am going back and re-doing alot of my airflow calcs and I have learned alot. RS4 MAF doesn't seem to be so accurate. :-/ Also, I think other people aren't flowing nearly as much as they think they are, because they would have over-run their injectors, but that only goes for sea level cars.
Anyway, here are the new logs. It was apparently over 100 degrees outside, so my intercoolers and water injection may have managed IAT's below ambient. Unfortunatly, the air is so thin that I was down almost 35g/s from 60 degree weather. Timing was down, too. I am also running very rich and I am going to play with leaning it out a bit, but for now, I am just happy the lean spike is gone. The car was obviously slower than it was during the winter.

I have a south bend stage V clutch sitting in my garage, I just have to motivate myself to swap it out in this insane heat. That and a couple of waste gate adjustments and it should be good to go again.
I guess everything else is basically done. I still have some more work to do on the audio and I have some dash rattles that are infuriating. And something needs to be done with the suspension... Yeah, I guess its getting there.

There is another 40whp to be had up top if I can keep the boost up. I need to get at those waste gates.

Are you running a stock maf housing?

It is tuned for the RS4 MAF, so the airflow is somewhat accurate, at least, it is comparable to a stock MAF.
