Wanted to let everyone know that at last night's ACNA National Board meeting the Utah Chapter charter was granted.

Congratulations to the Utah Audi community! We're the newest Chapter in the ACNA!

We'll be planning a general membership meeting in the near future, as well as move forward with planned activities.

and event planning
why should I get special treatment

BTW don't you have to have a new election since you have lost 2???? members to the new club?

The minutes from all board meetings except the latest meeting have been approved by the board and were supposed to be posted once approved. Typically the minutes from a meeting would be approved at the next meeting. Not sure what the delay has been getting them posted to the site...

Yes, the RMC will have to adjust its bylaws to remove Utah from it's geographic boundaries. I imagine that Clark and I will probably resign our board positions at the next board meeting as we will no longer live in the RMC boundaries once thei RMC bylaws are changed.

According to the RMC bylaws, when there is a vacancy on the board of directors the vacancy is filled by a vote by the majority of the directors then in office. I would hope that the RMC directors consider carefully the effect they can have on the future of the RMC and the membership. There is an opportunity to either unite the RMC membership (especially within Colorado) or cause more dissent.

Perhaps the RMC board should look at the 2008 election results and appoint the 2 candidates who were not elected but received the most votes - will of the people rather than will of the board. I will suggest this at the next RMC board meeting.

sad we are loosing you

but as of several days ago no meetings were posted on links that worked - I try to check every few weeks and the last that had a link (that did not work) was March - not very good results from a team that was suppose to be more responsive to the members

and for the Utah chapter to setup an event there would be seriously stepping on the RMC's toes.

But I think (hope) we will be looking at setting up an ice driving school (like Georgetown Lake) here in Utah. Driving there for a 1 day event is just way too far away for us.
Might be a while longer for us to find a more local Steamboat Springs / Bridgestone / winter driving school event though.

Last word was it had been taken over by ACNA National and that ACNA National had actually secured dates. RMC was attempting to secure some additional dates of their own, but haven't heard how successful the board member assigned to that has been.

Either way, a Bridgestone winter driving school should be happening, and we've talked about the potential of some sort of winter driving school in Utah.

I figure Starvation, Strawberry, Fishlake or something like that out there has to get enough ice on it to support it.

another Ice Driving event at the same facility is stepping on anyone toes, if all are invited how is this? I'd hoped that kind of silly attitude left with the OLD board.

Gruppe Q used to run multiple events (Mon/Tue and then Thu/Fri). Then of course ACNA with a Sat/Sun event.

I know it might be tough to do from SLC, but I do think that it would be worth it for a weekend, and i don't think it would be hard to fill.

Stay tuned for updates, I am the ONLY person designated as the Steamboat Winter driving school contact. If you hear something from someone else, chances are it's not what's happening.

It's an issue that the Bridgestone organizers have with a couple of members of the existing board. That's one of the reasons National took it over - so they could have an event at all.

Hopefully it can all get worked through.

And Kasim wanted to write a letter to National about them having an event without notifying RMC.

Do you have dates then?

They didn't last year either.

It's premature to announce anything yet, but I do have something up my sleeve...

I said they secured dates, just as was discussed on the board call, just as everyone will see if the RMC board minutes ever end up getting posted.

I guess we can drop it until you let us know what is going on...

but its historically been their event, its in their geographic region, blah blah blah. There is enough drama already, no need to go creating more by stepping on their toes.

You all go and do personal driving events but ignore the tasks you were elected to do.
