View Full Version : Having fun with a hot topic, what are some good (30+) MPG cars you might actually WANT to own?

Obviously A4's, but I'm talking about classics like the VW Karmahn Ghia, the 914 or 912, Fiat, Miata or maybe a 1st Gen MR2. Just thinking if some day I was forced to drive something economical what would at least be entertaining.

(not sure if the above are actually 30+)

I would also be able to say that I have an R8. LOL

It was a truely good little car when it ran. I think I was working on it at least twice a week. It had the most comfortable leather seats.

Thanks, Clark

It had mechanical fuel injection and used and eccentric cam to change the stroke of each piston that controlled the fuel for each cylinder. I could literally look at the exhaust pipe to atune the engine by the color.

You would just treat it like a bike and dress for the elements!

which is exactly why I bought this (my second TT). A great looking car that is fun to drive, fast and a great economy car.

We are on our second Cooper S, what a great car. You can commute, auto x, even track and have fun.

I thought that was low from what I had heard, but I guess 'results may vary'. I think a 2.0T TT is an awesome car.

If I drive in maximum MPG mode I can squeeze close to 40 mpg out of it on the highway. But to do that I have to sit on cruise in the right lane at 65 mph.

... driving like a grany like you said. I would sllllooowwwwly get up to speed and set the cruise and try not to brake for anything. Normal is more like 23/24.

While it is cool and has 4 wheels it has the same problems with weather that a motorcycle does.
