2. I remember reading articles about this program when it was first launched. Washington state has used the program to great effect on the I-5 corrider. They initially started it with the help of the teamsters and several LTL trucking companies. They have troopers ride in the truck with the driver, and they work a specfic 25 to 30 mile stretch of I-5. In the first year, they reduced accidents (tailgating and road rage specifically) significantly. They also began using it for radar enforcement as well as general driving infractions, they have been successful with the program.

3. They are right though, most motorists have no respect for semi's, they have no concept of weight, braking and handling abilities. If nothing else, I try to get the point across to some of you guys about this occasionally.
