Chuck smoked a C6 Vette! Met a few of the RMCB5 guys, along with Ewan (DenverA4er), and Jim (Audifreakjim).

because he smoked a vette. As for jim, (yellow 5 cylinder with GT-35 turbo) I think he was low to mid 12's. I'll post some pics and videos later on tonight

I'll post a couple videos and my time slip. That was just a blast. At the end I was really having a hard time hooking up. I've never had traction problems before, is this common late in the night? I was just burning out through first and it was really annoying!

People are there are really cool. I met a lot of people in line and people loved that my car sounded stock. You can't even hear it running out there! My match-ups went as followed:

14.322 vs. no one

14.227 vs. 12.458 drag prepped C5 Vette. KILLED ME. His trap speed was 89 mph so I think he coasted the second half of the track!

13.997 vs. 14.352 C6 Vette. I wouldn't have held him off for a 1/2 mile! (have video)

13.854 vs. 14.157 Race Civic. This thing was FAST but couldn't get it down in the start. He was closing faster than the Vette! (have video)

13.555 vs. 15.990 LS1 Camero. This was the -kill- of the night. I don't think he knew what hit him.

13.796 vs. 15.100 STI. I was really interested in how they would compare. There was a young girl driving it and her boyfriend riding. It did have a .003 R/T and 2.198 60' so it she didn't do bad. This was my first "burn-out" start of 3 in a row, but my fastest trap speed of 101.76.

14.302 vs. 17.435 new Dodge Cummins. Big time wheel slip, thank got it was vs. a truck!

14.181 vs. 13.234 drag Nova on slicks. My other loss and even though I dropped the revs I was getting big slip. Considering how the other car looked and sounded I was pleased to be that close.

Total kick in the butt! I don't care if you aren't into drag racing, you should really go out there and try it. Everyone was supped nice that I talked too and no one had egos. Very different from when I've raced people on the street. I can't wait till I get a few more mods and try it again. Hopefully the traction problem was just a debris thing.

The car was very consistent, I have a handful of time slips with 12.0-12.1 runs at 119 mph. These were all with 1.8x second 60 ft times, and running in the 10's AFR wise up top.

After really concentrating on launching and leaning out the mixture, I finally nailed one, but halfway down the strip a boost hose came off. This would have been an 11.x second run too, the 60 ft time was in the 1.7's and the AFR was at a perfect 12.5:1. DAMNIT! I did sneak in two more runs after that, but had nagging boost hose problems each run.

All in all, not a bad night for the first time out on the new motor. It was great to see everyone there, especially Chuck and his quest for the perfect launch!

I need to fix the hose issue, and get some more air to my intercooler somehow. My intake temps were pretty high last night.
