NigelS4 already mentioned that he had a timing belt party this last weekend (lol) and that changing a TB on A6's is no fun. While we hadn't changed a TB on an A6 before and were up against the learning curve, there were other factors that contributed to the difficulty. These are a few pics to show the event and what we were facing...


Here you can see the pass. headlight that none of us could get unplugged, we struggled with that for a while (that's ColoradoBrad, he's very persistent)

This should be motivation to take care of your cars and to get them checked out before you buy them. Look at how much oil there is everywhere...

Another pic of an oil coo... I mean intercooler, the fins on the bottom were totally clogged with oil and dirt.

If you have an A6 don't be afraid of the project, it's really not that bad (S4's are just easier!). But let us all remember that taking care of our cars takes very little when you compare it to the headache neglect will cause down the road.

it's hard to believe that B5 S4s are already 6 years old, and could potentially look as dirty as the ones above!
