Looks like I'll make the last few months of SCR in spite of being held up at almost every turn on the cars total ground-up conversion. Precious few mods available for this car so most everything except engine components are my own design and machining.
ENGINE:
Goal is 300 normally aspirated HP. Tho I'll be a bit surprised if I dont hit 330-350HP. 2.8 12V block is now decked, bored and milled to just under 3.0 litres. Entire block sealed with Glyptal. JE lightweight 11.7:1 compression pistons, Pauter Titanium rods. Every primary/secondary intake runner in the intake manifold and head CC'd to within 1 drop liquid volume and "wet-flowed" on a Super Flow 1200 bench with Mondello wet-flow hardware. Crank rotational diamter reduced, knife-edged and gun-drilled. Harmonic dampeners weight reduced 25% and flywheel lightened to 16lbs. Entire crank, harmonic dampener and flywheel balanced as an assembly to less than 1 gram at 10,000 RPM. HalTech E11v2 engine management with dual wide band O2 sensors and late model Audi direct fire ignition coils. Equal length, stainless mandrel bent headers. Custom 2mm over-size titanium hollow, sodium-filled 6mm stem intake and exhaust valves with 4mm under-cut stem profiling & titanium retainers along with lightweight lifters. Every combustion chamber CC'd to 1 drop liquid volume. Intake/exhaust ports gasket-matched. 60 grit finish on all intake ports/runners and mirror polished on all exhaust runners. Fluidyne oil, power steering and transmission coolers with thermostat controlled transmission oil circulation pump. Remote full-flow and bypass engine oil filtration and 3Qt Accusump. Total engine oil capacity: 11.5Qts. Peterson Fluid Control power steering reservoir with 60 micron full-flow filtration. All Aeroquip "StartLight" fluids hoses with AN fittings.
TRANSMISSION:
016 Early Audi 4000 ultra-close ratio 5speed with center locker and .063:1 FD ratio so its not so "buzzy" at highway speeds. Custom "one-off" aircraft u-joint & spherical bearing short shift with 55% travel reduction.
SUSPENSION:
Ohlins coilovers w/remote reservoirs at all 4 corners. Porsche 996 twin-turbo calipers and GT2 cross-drilled/ventilated 323x32mm rotors on front and Boxster S rear calipers and cross-drilled/ventilated rotors in the rear. Dual Tilton Engineering master cylinders with bias proportioning valve beside drivers seat. No ABS! Delrin bushings front & rear and Titanium tubular lower control arms on the workbench. Tubular titanium tie rods as well. 17x8.5" SSR Comp wheels lightened to 14lbs with 245/40 Hoosier slicks. Solid CNC'd spherical bearing front strut mounts with 1" 7075 aluminum strut tower bar with spherical bearing rod ends adjustable for tension/compression and integrated "truss" bar at each strut tower for additional strength/rigidity. Rear "X-beam" adjustable strut bars. 28mm front/23mm rear sway bar with titanium adjustable swaybar links at all 4 corners.
I want to see low 1:17's/high 1:16's before SCR goes away. A VERY lofty goal for a normally aspirated 12V! And no lag out of the corners wont break my heart either. Not to mention a profound lack of that pesky "turbo devil" sitting on my shoulder always yapping; "did you hear, see, smell that? Better get off the track now." Now I can run for hours & hours on end with none of those doomsday turbo-related voices in my head.

Titanium rods
