Supposedly this will be the last year. Then again, 2004 was supposed to be the last year. WagonBoy would be able to give you more details, although I don't think he really knows for sure, either.

One more year for now. CMC is still trying to get things lined up for a new track, there are a couple of things up in the air currently.

If only we could get some $$$$ together and buy PPIR :-)

Basically, the track was going to be closed because the land owner couldn't get his permits renewed because of noise complaints. It took a while, but there was finally a hearing. The hearing heard reports from all sides. The track submitted a 3 year renewal form, but were granted 1 year, which expires Nov 1, 2005. After that, SCR will close for good. I really don't think there is any way to get another year, but I'm not 100% sure on that. There were conscesions to get this far, but most were for the dirt track. In the meantime, they are trying to raise money to build a new track, but last I heard they were back to square one! ;( That's it really.

What's next? DIA is making too much noise for them? There's a turd churn about half a mile from my place...maybe I can get them to close it down and send the refuse somewhere but here.
