I heard mobil 1 0w30 is the best... any suggestions? n52audi18t 01-05-2005, 06:20 PM during winter a light oil such as that works great and gets the car up to temp faster, however if the car is modded or driven hard to the point where the temps in the turbos get pretty warm something like a 10-40 or 15-50 it is a little overkill and takes a little horsepower but it does the job at keeping the turbo alive in the summer, anyways i run a 1.8 so what do i know drew2.7T 01-05-2005, 07:14 PM That is what I use in mine: Ask the folks at Prestige Imports (303-238-8101)and they can tell you for sure. J4SON 01-06-2005, 02:24 AM The motor ran noticeably cooler and cooled down faster from high temps. On the track with the Mobil 1, I could get oil temps between 275-300 (and this wasn't even in the summer), but with Amsoil I would just go slightly over 250. However, for sake of convenience I often ran mobil 1 0w-30 or 0w-40. Amsoil was nowhere to be found locally for a good price, and I usually didn't want to wait a week for it to be shipped to me; whereas Mobil 1 can be found at any parts store or Target. audifreakjim 01-06-2005, 07:23 AM |
