What size/make snow tires do you ride if any, and when do you normally mount them (e.g. first snow, sometime in December, first ski day)?

Chrisfast 10-30-2003, 10:10 AM gragravar 10-30-2003, 10:19 AM and removed late march. I really should just buy a torque wrench and mount/dismount them as weather requires... (As I also have dedicated rims for the winter) Doing that would allow more time on the summer tires during the dry times of winter. CraigB 10-30-2003, 10:44 AM They're usually on by Thanksgiving (unless it snows significantly in Denver before) and off by mid-April. I've had Blizzak LM-22s and Duplop M2s in the past. I currently run Dunlop WS-50s on the GTI for better ice grip with the FWD. WagonBoy 10-30-2003, 10:52 AM didn't want to risk driving around this week with the SportContacts on. They are getting really hard from all the track driving I've been doing! ;) Rick Reggie3 10-30-2003, 11:07 AM DUBITUP 10-30-2003, 11:28 AM but I ususally put them on end Oct/beg Nov. I have used the Blizzaks on the last vechile and they were great! chipstar-32 10-30-2003, 11:51 AM rbella4 10-30-2003, 11:59 AM HPH 10-30-2003, 12:16 PM inTTervene 10-30-2003, 12:29 PM Unless there is snow on the ground before that. Pat 10-30-2003, 12:32 PM Next set of non-summer-specific tires will likely be ContiExtremes since it's normally dry in Denver during the winter. For an all-season tire, the Contis are supposed to do very well in the snow, too. cpayne 10-30-2003, 12:42 PM jrossaudi 10-30-2003, 12:44 PM None. The car will probably only come out of the garage two to three times when the snow is flying randy@5280 10-30-2003, 02:06 PM What's a snow tire ;) J4SON 10-30-2003, 02:21 PM randy@5280 10-30-2003, 03:35 PM BTW- I'm 100% sold on The Tire Source! They're definitely getting all of my tire business! Best pricing on mount and balance Best pricing on 4 wheel alignment Best pricing on installing new tie rod and the list will most likely be expanding down the road... =) J4SON 10-30-2003, 03:52 PM I agree, they're awesome. BTW...Pete says he'll do corner balancing too. :-) GreekDeno 10-30-2003, 04:36 PM

RS4orce 10-30-2003, 07:20 PM Vanimaniac 10-30-2003, 07:28 PM 2.7T_RT(toofast) 10-30-2003, 08:03 PM I have PZerro Nero's on now and hate the thought of putting the AS's back on for winter. 2.7T_RT(toofast) 10-30-2003, 08:06 PM rbella4 10-30-2003, 08:27 PM Tirerack can get them to a local shop pretty fast. I ordered my M2s from a local shop in Seattle and they got there in 3 days. Worth every day of waiting and every penny spent. Pat 10-31-2003, 07:40 AM MarkFank 10-31-2003, 08:03 AM scuderia 10-31-2003, 11:37 AM GreekDeno 10-31-2003, 08:53 PM I would've rather got some Pilot Alpins or M2's but I'm very happy with these. I was in kind of a pickle so I had to get new tires. I figured why buy new summer/performance tires on stock rims. There is a huge Nokian dealer here in Denver. I forgot who, but I would rather go w/ them, but I needed tires and I needed something in southern Denver. 2.7T_RT(toofast) 10-31-2003, 09:35 PM So it's H-rated M2's, Pirelli's or I might look into the Nokian WR's.
