I am looking to get both rims and ECU and TCU chips for my car. Probably chips first. its going to be bad up here in the mountains soon and i dont want to scuff up a nice new set of rims. So which is it MTT or SPORTEC. SPORTEC is going to be in town on the 9th-12th they both have great rims though i like the MTM bimoto rims better? Ideas on who makes the better chips for, its goin my 02 S8

sportec is incredible for custom tuning, but its a fortune to get done. might try to find some s8 guys that have both and see how they feel about it

It's not a 1 size fits all type of application; rather, think of it as a nicely tailored suit =)
On the downside, if you ever decided to augment motor mods down the road, you'd have to have the ECU tweaked to optimize the changes that you've made. This would require the Sportec guys to be in town for that to happen. Shouldn't be a HUGE deal, since they seem to visit on a somewhat frequent schedule, but still something to consider.
As for wheels... I am a big fan of the forged 2pc Sportec wheel made by BBS... Very sharp design, and quite light in contrast to their MIM built cast wheel. The MTM wheel is quite nice too, though somewhat reminiscent of the RS4(?) DTM wheel which isn't a bad wheel, but when you're dishing out that kind of coin why not go with something unique?
