Literally. The next phase of clear taillighting has been sighted this weekend on a trip up to the mountains. Wife and I were following what looked to be a 1984 Chevrolet Cavalier with the newest trend in aesthetics tuning. Rather than paying for pricey new aftermarket taillight housings, this saavy owner went one step further and had all of his OEM taillight lenses busted out. The result was 'in-your-face' bright lighting with the elimination of all red and amber in the taillight. I don't think this modification is DOT approved just yet, but I do anticipate this being the next hot trend (even bigger than the widely popular 'Altezza' style taillights).

Over 10 years ago when clear tail lights were becoming popular in japan. Guys were making their own, they looked clean and very sharp. I particularly remember a nice custom set on a early-90's Crown Majesta. Unfortunately they became a fad among young american posers......
