My son got a ticket this morning in the canyon for going 75 in a 50. SOunds like the officer was a jerk. Said he's going to "recommend other charges to the DA" - what a crock. I think he's trying to scare him into slowing down. He's 17 and was on his way to Rifle to go rock climbing with his younger brother and a friend. He was (according to him, which I take with a grain of salt) going with traffic. He's enough over that they ask for a mandatory court appearance. This is his first ticket and I would like to see if we can get it reduced. Audi content: he was driving his 4000Q, probably wouldn't ahve been speeding except it's downhill there:)

On Sunday my sons and their friend were at Rifle Falls and were pulled over by a park ranger. They were given a ticket for "defacing public property" and for not having a valid park vehicle permit. They had bought a pass for the adjacent park and thought it would carry over to the one they were visiting. As far as the defacement of public property: they were at the top of the waterfalls and were floating branches down the river and watching them go over the falls. Some "fat lady" at the bottom reported them to the rangers. It's so ludricous it would be funny - except they're requiring another court appearance at 8:30 am. They think it's more important to come to court over these riduculous charges than it is for three boys to be in school. BTW the story has been verified w/ the ranger. Ahh, the joys of teenage boys.
