Hi all,

Just wanted to invite everyone to Buttonwillow on December 4th-5th for our DE. Would be good to see you, fun to drive with you, and of course we could use the support as well, especially from those that are qualified to instruct. We'll be running the whole track with BOTH the "Bus Stop" and "Star Mazda". Hope to see you there! - David

They just need to make sure they're ACNA members.. ($40/yr I think it is).

Willow on 12/7. That's $205 for a day at each track!

Sorry audi club, but even NASA is $150 less for a 2 day event.

Good luck getting people to show at that price in this economy.

Hi AudiFan2008 with one post. Thanks for your concern.

The fact is, your are leaving out many important details about Audi Club's driver's education events. First and foremost, we do not organize track events to make money. As a non-profit organization, our goal is to educate members to become better drivers. 2nd, we provide one on one instruction for all student drivers. Most of our instructors drive Audis themselves. They are able to help a student extract the most out of an event. 3rd, we set up driving exercises for all beginner students. This provides students with skills which they can utilize on the track. Last but not least, we provide an awesome dinner banquet, all refreshments, and 2 lunches for our 2 day events.

Like I said, we are a club. We provide a safe and fun track driver's education experience for our members. I feel your comparison of other open track driving events to us is unwarranted and irrelevant.

out there. People who attended your events say they are a disorganized joke!

Try to pull the wool over someone else's eyes.

seriously, who are you?

I heard nothing but positive feedback from their Buttonwillow event last year.

MikekiM@PureMS

There were incidents in EVERY session. Either 4wheels off or accidents. Not exactly the type of place you learn anything other than maybe avoid cars going off the road.

The comparison to an ACNA event isn't even close.

ACNA events are SAFE, with full time instruction in every car. They're an educational seminar designed to teach you about your car and to use that knowledge to be a better and safer driver.

Don't even try to compare Speedtrial or Speedventure events to what you get with the Audiclub, or BMWclub for that matter. They're in a different league.

Are you making it down for Oggi's on Thursday?

MikekiM@PureMS

Dunno just yet.. Last minute decision for me.

You doing this ACNA event?

I've been to events that are a "disorganized joke," they're scary reckless and unsafe. Maybe you should come out and see for yourself before you start trash-talking.

AudiFan2008
11-11-2008, 09:17 AM
Are you telling me that there are no "offs" or "incidents" at your events...I don't think so.

I've searched this site and found otherwise.

AudiFan2008
11-11-2008, 09:22 AM
event? I don't think that is true.

You are right about one thing. BMW CCA is good and so is Porsche Club of North America. But to put audi club in the same category is a joke...they are not even close

Hell...I've spun MY car!

But the only time I have seen a car get damaged was when a yahoo decided he didn't need to follow the rules. The guy was over his head and didn't know it. He decided he didn't need to have an instructor in the car and took off without one.

He wasn't invited back.

In the 20 or so events I have attended, an A or B student (novice groups) has NEVER damage his/her car.

I think you should prolly find those other safe clubs and run with them.

and the need for some new track tires, I don't think it's going to happen :(

That is, unless I can unload my stock turbos/downpipes/ECU from the S4 and stock wheels/tires from the Jeep immediately. That should easily cover the event and tires!

I'm not holding my breath though :(

If you don't like Audi Club events, why are you wasting your time on this board?

I've been an instructor with Audi Club and a number of other organizations for years. Audi Club runs safe well-organized events. If you don't agree, take your weak-ass slow-driving self somewhere else.

Usually these are on the list:

Shell
Hotchkis
APR
GMG

And probably some more from this page:

http://www.sccaudi.com/sponsorlist.asp

Perhaps David will chime in with the real list.

I'm not into spending $150 for one myself...but if three or four of us join together, we could have one to keep gear, tires etc out of any weather and secure overnight.
