crash at on my way home from LA... just bought a car and im trying to make good time.

I dont know the AREA AT ALL! so im looking for something right off the freeway so i can make the trip pretty simple. The plan is to drive from LA tonight and stay in SAN JOSE... then in the morning go to san fran just to have brunch and then head to OR.

Any advice would be great!

cuz if you're truly trying to make good time, you'll need to go I-5 all the way and get nowhere close to the bay area.

if you def. want the BA stop, then you can:

-cut over from I-5 to 101 using Hwy 152 (pacheco pass) and end up in San Jose

-or, if San Jose is not a specific destination; leave I-5 @ Tracy, connecting to I-580, and stay the night in, say, Pleasanton, Dublin, or San Ramon. then proceed to SF the following day.

Stop on the far side of the Golden Gate for brunch as you head up.
