Unlike some other drives where the point is blast along at maximum speed, this is a driving clinic covering only two basic concepts - braking before cornering and making the largest and smoothest arc out of any corner. Bring your slowest car, a two way radio, water, jacket, and remember to check your tire pressures before setting out. We're meeting at SR where the exotics meet in the back corner by the theater. Plan to leave around 10:30/11am.

There is a place in Felton that is supposed to serve good Italian food, so we're heading there for lunch. We're going up over 9 (which will no doubt be crowded with cars and bikes), and down the back through the redwoods. The return trip is up to you.

Nope, the guys do not even get to ride in the cars! You can meet us at the restaurant for lunch:)

So if any women would like to do a nice scenic drive and learn a thing or two along the way, please join us!

I am going to run a recon today to make sure there are no surprises.

http://www.yelp.com/biz/la-bruschetta-restaurant-felton</a

is very inexperienced. I want to give them the confidence to go beyond being an accessory on future drives and that means minimal pressure. So baby steps:)

Meet us for lunch instead? Guessing around 12:30-ish.

BTW, is was extremely windy at the coast today, although sunny. Looks like more of the same for a few days. So if you plan to go out to highway 1, bring along a windproof jacket at the very least.

I would join you but we have plans with the Corvette club -- local parade & club tradition to have as many cars as possible drive. Not all that exciting but the BBQ after is always great.
Too bad you can't find the woman driving the Land Rover that a few of us blasted by during the GTG/drive last December.
I hope you have a safe and pleasant drive.

slow car out on the weekends, as there are exotic car drives to go on then. Going slow in an exotic is terribly boring;-)

before noon though, as they shut down 9 and reroute traffic for a festival.

Based on running the route the other day, even going really slowly, we should be able to make it with plenty of time if we leave by 11.

Look for either a black or grey one of these at the SR parking lot:
