we've bought nearly nothing, but it's getting finalized tonight.

I decided to go with these REI boots
<img src="http://media.rei.com/media/720252.jpg">

these are "backpacking boots" so they're warmer and waterproof, without being dedicated snow/winter boots that won't be functional in the summertime. we do!

Also, i spent way too much on some icebreaker stuff for my thermals, and 3rd layer (200, and 320...got a 260 in Sedona. why icebreaker? Did a study on them just prior to going ot NZ and went to their factory there too...pretty awesome stuff. Pricey, but will last and is very re-usable "no stink" as they advertise ;-)

Anyway, i excite.

i realize you 4 got one helluva deal at the fairmont, but this 'prep work' is offsetting the benefits.

i'm sure you four will be the MOST bundled up in town.

don't forget your bathing suits! (there is a spa/sauna/jacuzzi)

anyone came up with only 40 gallons or whatever they initially claimed fell out of the cosco was genius. you can fit a modern compact car in that gash.

also...is the ramp known for poor service?

met up with the rocket world / tad gear guys.

Outdoor dancing to Salsa on the weekends in warm weather with the view of Eastbay, and drydocks is pretty nice.

But I just don't get why the service is so slow there and why their food is consistently mediocre. Sure it's a divey place but food prices they charge aren't divey.

i can deal with mediocre food, even for an extravagant price - especially considering the 'view (of the cosco)'

but...service was pitiful.
