I haven't been on one in a while. We were going to watch the bike races, but I think this would be more fun especially since it is a Marin drive where we first 'met'.

I've already explained to the ACGG team that it's not worth it to me unless we have a slow-paced, scenic cruise.

yes, the state has responsibility to upkeep the roads, but if you see a pothole, slow the eff down. It is pretty simple.

there are some places where if you don't know the exact line to take you're screwed.

i might come out. i was just there last weekend, doing pretty much the exact route.

I'm only promoting this...not leading this drive. Going to be camou with the asphalt in the middle of the pack.

We actually want to enjoy the drive, catch more photos, and not worry about CHP. In the bright-taxi-cab-yellow car with CF hood and no front plate, modified exhaust, yadayada, all we need is to have a speeding ticket on top of all that.. lol.

Still on learner's permit status and not out of neutral yet haha.

the road surface is pretty crappy, and some of it goes through the woods where there can be wet and/or gravelly patches

Still not sure if he called it all in, and tried to set us up, getting pulled over for "racing," "weaving in and out of traffic," etc when we were all cruising single-file.

Oh well, $hit happens, I got it down to a single point infraction and $500.

Oh, and I have a great story about being in the drunk tank for 8hrs because their computer system crashed. :D

I've only done a Marin drive with friend 2FST4CHP (actually a passenger of mine in that pic below, haha), leading it because of his 30+ years experience on those roads...hehe.

Gary's never driven it, and the last time I did it with Daryl, I was simply following.

I found a few on old NorCalAudi posts, but many are dead links. Trying to find some of Fred's car from that trip- there were 3 Imola's that day, and of my car- I had the dark grey Audi rings up the side of my car, so it was sorta noticeable....

the driveability isn't the greatest. It's like a kick in the head and not the smoothest torque curve. I've owned many 4cyls and when it's all said and done "it's still a 4cyl". There's nothing like a free reving V6TT or V8 even. Don't think I could go back to a 4cyl turbo unless its for gas mileage reasons (ie B7 2.0T Avant). Wish the damn 3.0TDI would get here already so I could get my Touareg or Q7. Arrgh.
