If you received the email about the event, there is some stuff missing.

It appears the driver's meeting is at 6 pm, and you have to have your car teched before the event. I guess there is no one to tech cars at registration...

Any Golden Gate instructors that can tech my car in SLC?

We just prefer to have cars teched in Advance. It would suck for you car not to pass tech and you be stuck watching.
