Hello all! I'm moving to the Bay area in June and I have a few questions. First I don't have a front license plate on my A4 (in Colorado its required but I've managed to not to get caught). Is it required in Ca. like in colorado to have front license plate? Do the cops give you a hard time if you don't have it on? I would hate to drill into my bumper.

Also do you guys have any good feedback for any of the local dealerships?

Thanks for the help guys!

Omar

I haven't had a front plate on my Audis since 2000. I haven't been pulled over yet for that..nor has anyone said anything when I was pulled over for speeding.

For service, I think Rector Motors in Burlingame has the edge for me. I have been going to Stevens Creek Audi in San Jose for the past 6 years..but I think I am moving to Rector. BTW, I use to be a service advisor at Rector myself...for a whole SIX days. :-)

so ill be near by. Also good to know about the plate thing. I really did not want to drill my bumper.

I live in the Springs right now but I'm always up in the Denver area on the weekends. I can't wait until I move. Not much goes on in the Springs.

Palo Alto, downtown San Mateo, Burlingame (at least on the main shopping street) you will get a ticket from the cops (generally parking cops) when you're parked. Redwood City they don't seem to care. I gave up and put my front plate on (got two tickets, not worth paying $50 fines over and over) :-(

Welcome to the neighborhood. I used Topline Automobile (right near Rector Audi) for some aftermarket work on my car, they did good work.

. . . and it was actually for not having any plates at all.
