I gotta say overall I'm really impressed. I came from the Neuspeed Bilstein + Race Spring combo, with stock brakes.
That thing was waaay too bumpy. Granted, the car kinda felt like a go-kart, but it had problems with body lean in auto-x, and was waaay too stiff a ride for a daily driver.
I HIGHLY suggest waiting for a kit like the tracksport. I REALLY like being able to change the ride-hight w/o having to take out the suspension! I also REALLY like having the option of changing the dampening w/o removing it as well!!
I can say that I'll be loosening the dampening for street driving from the installed setting....for track it's probably at a good place...though perhaps a little tighter.
The stock brakes were fine, but I really want to start doing some track events without worrying about my brakes.
The Install
The install looks good...and you can't beat the pricing they have! Man, I was so fed up of taking out and putting in my old suspension at a place that lacked space and air tools...so I decided to have Stasis do it for me. Cost less than buying a good air-compressor set :) p.s. don't forget about the fact the two fronts and backs need to be lifted at the same time <sigh>
I'm not sure if it was on purpose or not, but the default set-up was with a slight forwards rake (~1 finger front, 2 back)...I'm not sure if this was for performance or what not but I ended up having to change it to 2 fingers up front (~25.5 I think) to avoid scraping. I noticed that the two lowest aluminium? pieces under the car are scraped up real bad...I'll probably have to replace them.
The brakes look great!
The Ride
The ride is awesome. I was talking with some Stasis folk and they were saying how a lot of other setups use high compression and rebound...but they use very little compression, but high rebound....which makes for a better ride, and better traction. While thinking about this I think I can feel exactly what they were saying. I haven't been able to really stress the suspension but it seems like I can push some more lateral out of this thing. Plus of course the ride is much more civilized...while still communicating every bit of information from the road to me.
After finally bedding in the brakes....WOW :) Repeated high speed braking is no-problem. They stop, and stop fast with good feel. You can tell they have a lot of power.
The People
The Stasis folk are really down to earth, and they have a really nice shop. Thanks to me being a jerk and not reserving the rental before I got there (d'oh) they called a few places and took me to the rental, then picked me up in my own car from the rental place when the car was done. There was a short delay in getting the car so Stasis did something really nice which I totally wasn't expecting (thanks guys). On top of this there was a discount, and they threw in a couple extra pieces.
Conclusion
in DPREVIEW style: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED *g*
p.s. anyone want to buy some 16" snow tires w/ steelies ? :)
