View Full Version : gauge lighting-make a 96 on all the time ??? The gauges are backlit (like all guages, I suppose) and the backlighting is on all the time, BUT... in daytime driving situations, you don't notice it because the light in front of the gauges (sunlight) is brighter than the backlighting.
When the front light source is less than the backlighting, that's when you notice the guages. Examples of this would be at night or when you drive through a tunnel, or underpass. In these situations, you would not be able to see your gauges unless you turned on your lights.
You could (and maybe should) turn your lights on in these situations, but the point is, you can always see your gauges, but they don't look like they are lit up as they do at night. In fact, the markings look white during the day, and red at night (or when they are lit). It's a pretty neat effect.
Drew S.
jeff 11-16-1998, 12:56 PM Ok....I want to get a chip, etc., type of answer, not just jokes, funny as they may be.
:-)
Seriously, this would make the car easier to deal with in parking garages, etc., and just nicer overall. Is there a 98 part that can be put in a 96???
tia
jeff |
