The steering rack is fixed. But Livermore Audi had to get a consult from the tech's in Germany. I believe they had the rep here to look at it. In the end, a whole new steering rack, pumps, and all associated tidbits were replaced.

Now, my symtoms were different than yours though I think. Basically the car was undrivable. My suggestion is the use the words "UNSAFE TO DRIVE" when dealing with the dealer. In fact, you might consider taking down here to Livermore Audi. They are really good in the service department.

If you want, I can get the exact replacement proceedure from the dealer and send it to you if that would help?
