I'm around Sac state and can't drive my car cuz I was in the middle of an oil change and couldn't get the filter off by hand. NEED HELP. thanks

take a screwdriver and hammer it through the oil filter. Use this to get it started and then you can take it off with your hand.

I always hand tighten my oil filter. Never had one leak or come loose.

FYI.

preferably leather. I've seen oil filters where the outer skin just tear with the screw driver method.

or at least knock it loose and have leakes between the engine and the oil cooler. Besides, it's hella messy :)
