I got the 5.25s for the front with the adapters. Hoping to
use the 6.5" for the rear. Don't want to cut. Need good seal.
Powered by PPI amps. JL Audio Pro Wedge Sub.
Can you give the exact model # of the speakers & adaptor you used for the front? I'd like to try this too, if you were successful with the installation. Also where you bought them, & would you recommend the place? Sorry I can't help you with your question about the rears.

The adapters are Quart Mobile Accessories, Mounting adaptor for stock locations. Audi A4 Sedan/Avant 11/94> I believe it refers to a part number 96-6281. They are for the "Doors front for woofer QM130 TX3.
I have not installed yet; but, according to the archieves they are the adaptors necessary.

The factory rear deck speakers are indeed 6.5", but the plastic basket that speaker is molded into is square, not round. So is the hole left in the package tray when the rear speakers are removed. You can put MB Quart 6.5" in there by either making/aquiring an adaptor, or cutting the metal so the hole is round. I personally would go the adaptor route, for obvious reasons. What I actually did was remove the speakers altogether to make room for a subwoofer enclosure, and install MB Quart coaxial's in the rear doors with the factory Bose grilles from Clair. Plenty of room, very clean, and decent sounding. Hope this helps.
Michael
