I've got a 2000 A6 2.7t and it's time for the 48k service (plus a recall for potential fire safety hazard....nice). I'm trying to figure out where to get this done since I'm off warranty and have to pay for it. Got quoted $530 from Royal in SF and $350 from Rector in Burlingame (I'm in SF but work down in Redwood City). That seems a bit pricey for an oil change and inspection.
Any recommendations for independent shops? I've seen the good feedback for Griffin Motorwerks over in Berkeley, but do they just do performance mods or will they do 'normal' maintenance stuff?
