This morning about 6:10 a.m. (Vallejo, CA), a city cop pulled me over and claimed I was running 55 in a 30 (that's almost double the posted speed limit). I said that's impossible, maybe doing 10 mph over at the most (if I wasn't paying attention), but I usually only drive 5 mph over on a regular basis. That's why I haven't had a ticket in over 10 yrs.
He reiterated that I went from 55 down to 40 when I saw him. I told him I knew he was there (I really did) and I was watching my speed (going realistically about 35-37). So, he checked out my I.D. and my registration, didn't want to look at my proof of insurance and "didn't write me a ticket because he was too tired". Yeah, right. I know I'm guilty for going what...5-7 miles over speed limit. But 55 in a 30? He's fcvking lying and he knows it! Why would he lie about my speed? Maybe to get satisfaction from pulling me over and threatening to write a ticket? Geez...what a way to start off a Monday morning.
Okay, I'm done venting.
