This morning about 6:10 a.m. (Vallejo, CA), a city cop pulled me over and claimed I was running 55 in a 30 (that's almost double the posted speed limit). I said that's impossible, maybe doing 10 mph over at the most (if I wasn't paying attention), but I usually only drive 5 mph over on a regular basis. That's why I haven't had a ticket in over 10 yrs.

He reiterated that I went from 55 down to 40 when I saw him. I told him I knew he was there (I really did) and I was watching my speed (going realistically about 35-37). So, he checked out my I.D. and my registration, didn't want to look at my proof of insurance and "didn't write me a ticket because he was too tired". Yeah, right. I know I'm guilty for going what...5-7 miles over speed limit. But 55 in a 30? He's fcvking lying and he knows it! Why would he lie about my speed? Maybe to get satisfaction from pulling me over and threatening to write a ticket? Geez...what a way to start off a Monday morning.

Okay, I'm done venting.

X-st. Tuolomne is where I saw him and he pulled me over on Monterey St.(?) by the train tracks about one to two blocks down. I bet the jerk just wanted to scare me. All it does was shake my faith in the town's police dept. even more and almost ruins the image of good cops.

He saw you weren't a problem and let you off.

for going 5-7 mph over (which I AM guilty for). *whew* That saves me hassle from paying the fine and going to traffic school for a day.
