Has anyone had their control module recoded to add the auto-lock, window roll-up, etc. in an early 1997 build A4 (mine has a build date of June 1996)? When I had brought the car to my dealer for the 30K service, they said sure no problem. Of course, when I went to pick up the car that was the only thing they had not done. They said that they couldn't reprogram the 1997 A4s. My theory is that either: It truly can't be done for 1997 A4s (or early build 1997s); or they forgot to do it and just fed me a lame excuse; or they just don't know how to use their own VAG tool.<p>Unfortunately, control module guru JohnS has not done a 1997 so he is not sure whether it can be done or not. Therefore, I ask all you 1997 owners if you have done yours or not. I am going home for Thanksgiving and might be able to get access to a VAG tool so I'd like to know if I should bother. TIA!<p>Jim

My 97 1.8qm was reprogrammed. The only thing that doesn't work anymore is the flashing triangle on the console to indicate alarm status.<p>dan k

I have a 97 1.8t with a Delta stereo. I had the following functions added to my car. * Window control w/remote. * 1 touch of all 4 doors. * Horn sounds when arming. * Lights flash when arming. * Auto door lock/unlock. I had the dealer use code 12264. I don't think there will be a difference between the 1.8 & 2.8. E-mail me if you need the other code types and their features. I hope this helps, good luck.
