I have a 98.5 2.8 with complete A!AvantGarde System S kit...my problem is that when CEC installed the side skirts they didn't remove the lower rubber door guards off my doors, so now there is a thin rubber strip of black against a silver side...I'm wondering if I can remove those door guards, or if there are holes in the door where the guards have been installed. Cathleen, how did you do yours? Or did you leave your door guards and paint them? Thanks in advance :)
Jason
A!AvantGarde 2.8

Rubber door guards were not introduced until after the '96 model year. Therefore, I did not have any to remove. Have you called CEC about this? They may know. What does the door guard attach to exactly? I have actually taken apart interior door panels of an Audi 4000q that we are building as a race car. Everything on the door is pretty much removable with a simple Philips-head screwdriver. It seems that way on my A4 also.
-Cathleen
There are holes in the doors where they attach, otherwise I would have removed them.. I had mine painted body color. No problems with flaking or peeling (been about 7 months).
There are pics on my website..
Jason
97 2.8QM

Jason's A4 page

I just got back from TAP earlier this week and found out
that someone has a supercharger on a 12V putting out
236 bhp. I will let you know if I hear anything more....the
test car already has 30K miles on the supercharger. Some
company in Texas. I don't know your email or I would
have emailed you this.
Steve S.
97 2.8QM

Sure, I'd still be interested to hear any news about this. However, it would be somewhat of a conflict of interest. My car is already a tuner project car involved in a 12v upgrade project.
-C.
