Well, as I posted here last week, my avant was no longer in pristine condition thanks to an ugly ding in my right front fender. I took the car down to Tony Correria at Dent Free on Saturday and the result was incredible.

First off, this was not a simple ding to remove. It looked like it was poked by something rather than just hit by a door edge and it was at least 1/8" deep. Plus, it just happened to be directly on top of one of the crease lines in the sheet metal. Tony had some serious reservations as to whether he'd be able to fix it, and even if he did, he was worried that the paint might crack.

Despite his reservations, I told him to go for it and now I cannot see where the ding previously was. My ClearBra may have helped to keep the paint from cracking. Regardless, the result is simply amazing. Here's a before and after shot of the repair, but it was difficult to capture a truly representative shot of the ding--it doesn't look nearly as bad in the photo as it did in person.

If you're in the SF Bay Area and need dent removal help, I highly recommend Tony. He can be reached at 650-245-8747.

My three year old ran the jagged end of his handlebars down the door of my A6. A guy in Dublin wet sanded the scratch completely out of sight. What a relief. The adoption papers were already filled out.

I've had two dents removed. Both times I was blown away with the results. Still park in the outback, but know I won't be as stressed next time.

Congrats!

Keep meaning to call them, but with me forgetting about it while at work, and the time difference, I'm wondering if I should just call the place in Sac...

I've got a pearl Avant with ClearBra on most of the car. It was installed an hour after RogDog's. My car sits outside all year round. This summer, I started getting brown splotches in the ClearBra. Also the gloss is gone. It's like that on horizontal surfaces only. The vertical surfaces are fine except for the gouges from bad parallel parkers.

I called Dan today after reading this thread, and he seemed willing to come out to San Jose to replace the ClearBra. I'm going to wait till after ski season, so I didn't get into the money thing with him. Maybe we can all get fixed at once.

Also, I think I've found a way to remove the splotches and keep them off. Doesn't help with the low gloss, though. I used a concentrated detergent/surfactant called KrudKutter (got it at Sherwin-Williams) to get the brown stains out and then waxed the ClearBra. The test spot has stayed clean for a month now.
