after being sold on the HRE 545's (in brushed aluminum) for my car, i started to look at some other HRE wheels. What I mainly don't like about the 545's (and 547's, and 542's) is that they kind of "bow" out. So basically the spokes of the wheel stick out farther than the lip, something I'm not too hip on at $4k for the wheels.

See these pics...

I saw some pics of Todd/AWE's S4. He is running HRE 540's, and those look pretty good. But in the journey to be different, i started looking for pics of the HRE 543's.

Here is a close up of a Brushed Aluminum 543:

Here is a painted 543 on a Honda S2000:

And finally, here is my poor photoshop attempt to put the wheel on a car that looks like mine:

I like the 543 because the spokes don't appear to "bow" out like the 545's, 547's, 542's. Yet I think it looks pretty good.

What do you all think?

Thos ere, if I'm not mistaken, as their site says..............Works of Art.
As long as you don't have to parallel park much (where I have always curbed wheels)

I say GO FOR IT!!!!

Those are some fine looking wheels!
(too bad SSR comps bend, those looked sweeet on Steve S' Nagaro S4!!)
(well, they looked sweet on his Laser Avant aswell!)

HRE's some of the best. If you make it happen, just do It.

I don't like the thinner spoke look as much on this car.

Despite all my Fikses, I secretly covet HREs :-)

Just my $0.02

it's kinda hard to tell from a picture, but look at the front wheel.... they definately do NOT extend beyond the lip - or I would not have bought them.... great way to destroy the centers on a curb!

Me thinks you need to see mine in person again... but then again, I wouldn't mind if you chose another style ;-p
