Question: Should I bother to take it in for repair? I can see the piece that's broken but I don't know if it makes a difference to the operation of the SR and another trip to the dealer is a hassle. Still, I'd hate for it to get worse after warranty is done. Anybody else have this happen?

It happened to my car. It is just decorative and does not affect the operation. I had them replace on my next dealer visit. It just snaps in.
