Today I stopped by the dealer that I _was_ going to order the car from (until I found the deal on CarOrder). I'm glad I didn't order from them. When I stopped by I was in my "dirty" clothes from helping a friend move (dirty t-shirt not tucked in and jeans) and I was driving a crappy car. I stood and stared at the wheels for about 20 minutes and nobody talked to me.
I did see a family (30s w/ a 4 yr old?) looking at a silver 1.8T Avant - the wife kept saying "It's only a four cylinder." Husband guy seemed open to it, I told him that more power was only a couple $$$ away (sorry, I could resist butting in like that). It was an automatic though - it looked like they'll either go to a 2.8 Avant, or from what I heard her saying, they would go for an SUV. Sad! They were looking at a '99 1.8T Avant, Tip, Quattro, no sport package.
ANYWAY - the wheels looked alot better than I thought. Pictures do them no justice - I saw a 99.5 with the 8-spokes right next to it, and side by side, the new ones actually look good to me!
