"With the new millenium, Volkswagen will be offering the Jetta and Golf with its
renowned 1.8T, 150-horsepower four cylinder engine as an optional power plant. In
the GTI, the 1.8T will replace the 2.0 liter as the base engine. The Jetta 1.8T and
GTI 1.8T models at this driving event will also be equipped with Volkswagen's new
sports suspension option. This exclusive Golf, GTI and Jetta 1.8T Press
Introduction will take place just prior to market availability on February 2-4, 2000."

Soon as we can find out more about the sport suspension, we'll let you know.

my roommate is a big VW guy, owns a `00 GTI and is annoyed that it will have optional powerplant and sport suspension in the near future....
He may have gotten it from the vortex though.

I'm just glad that they're putting the 1.8t in the base GTI. If they had offered it in the four door Golf, my sister would have killed me. =Þ
