I replaced my stock pads with Brembo Gold "superstreet" pads about 1,000 miles ago hoping they would reduce break dust without sacrificing braking efficiency. Here are my thoughts;
1) Break dust is reduced by about 50%. There are certainly pads available that will reduce dust even more, but these are acceptable to me. I can go more than a week without a cleaning. Don't get me wrong, there is still break dust, but it is finer and much lighter in color so it just doesn't show up as much as the heavy black dust from the stock pads.
2) Braking, IMHO, is slightly better than the stock pads. The brakes come on strong and quick, brake feel is about the same. Drove the car in the rain last night and braking was excellent.
3) Noise levels seem about the same as stock. I had some minor squealing when the pads were new and after extended periods of light braking action. Step on them hard from speed a few times and the squeal is gone.
I will be using these pads exclusively. Installation was routine, and the pads do include the ABS sensors.
Spieks (98 1.8TQMS and LLtek Cosmos with 225/45/17's)
P.S. Anyone interested in buying my stock pads...3,000 miles on them.
