I guess you were thinking of the CDX-C90. This new unit replaced mine (just minor 'beauty' improvements).
I'm already in touch with Sony, and will order the service manual. I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience. And BTW, the 8 holes are already filled with MBQuarts...

If you open up the radio, you'll void the warranty and if you don't know what you're doing, you could really make a mess of things. Just a warning.
