Well, just finished breaking in my 99 2.8QM when I realised I should have been 'wearing a bra' (they are very rare in UK). I've picked up a stone chip that has put a nasty 1/4" dent in the bonnet, right above the grill where the bodywork curves. Is this repairable or will I need a whole new bonnet ?
Cheers
Simon
99 2.8QM Brilliant Blue :-(

I too got a nasty chip on the front bumper. I found an article on carcareonline.com on how to repair stone chips.
It is a very long process (about 12 coats of paint) I spent about 5 minutes an evening for about 10 days. I followed the article to a T and guess what the chip is about 98% gone!!! If you take your time and buy the correct materials you will be amazed.
Roy M 98.5q Tip
Have you tried the method on a very narrow to medium width scratch yet?
Orest

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately it's not the paintwork that I'm most worried about. Whatever hit the bonnet must have been pretty heavy because it dented the metal along a crease about 1/4" long.
Simon
