Ok, my Audi only has 9k on it and the EMU went out, is this bad. Should i be worried or anything. The dealer replaced but could not tell me what the hell it was or did. I got in my car yesterday and the check engine light was on. I called the dealer and they told me to drive my car in. (Not sure if i should have when i look back, also found out that my last time i had my car in, 6k oil change and stuff, they did not do my oil change because when i checked it before taking the car in i had no oil in the engine almost.) So could somebody help me out with an explanation of the EMU and let me know if I am panicing too much here. I bought the Audi because of quality, this does not boost my confidence here. Thanks alot!

The ECM (also known as an ECU) is the computer that basically controls the entire engine...it is the "brain" of the car. On occasion, they're faulty and the result can be anything from a "Check Engine" light to poor running. I honestly wouldn't worry about it. Your dealer appears to have taken care of the problem...nothing is perfect. Not an Audi nor a Ferrari. The fact is, these problems can happen on any car.
I'm confused though about the order of events. Did they replace the ECM and then yesterday you had a "Check Engine" light? Or did you have the "Check Engine" light come on yesterday and the dealer replaced the ECM to replace the problem?
