The salesman accepted my first offer. 1 1/2 hours later I walked out with signed papers. The car needed washing and I had to run so I told them I'd pick it up the next day. Went in 15 minutes before closing, but no one there could do whatever it takes to give me the car (delt with one of the sales mgrs, Jake, who was just pissed I was making him stay late.) Left without my car. The next day I went back and picked up my car. Jake was there, cringed when he saw me, and passed me on the someone else (David). Found out later when the dealer's "customer service" rep called to follow up on my purchase that my original salesman had been fired the day I bought my car (whether or not this is related to him giving me 3% over invoice w/o dickering is unknown). Both the customer service rep (who sent me 2 Audi t-shirts for my trouble- woo hoo!) and my "new" salesman David asked me to lie when AoA calls about my experience (basically asked that I give McKenna 5 stars). I have to add that they didn't just ask, the almost begged. Although I got a great deal, I won't go back there for service. I just get the feeling that this dealer has issues (I'm a business consultant who gets paid to observe such things). phred 10-21-1998, 04:24 PM the dealerships that give the worst service are so concerned about their AoA ratings that, after treating you like dog doo-doo, they ask you to lie for them?
How about giving us such GREAT service we can't wait to tell the world? Wouldn't that be a better idea ?????
Alfredo 10-21-1998, 04:35 PM Used to have a '95 90q before my A4. Took the car in for 7.5k service. Went to pick it up at 5pm and was told that they were so busy that they didn't have the chance to get to my car. Here I was having to leave work early just to pick up my car and to find out they didn't even work on it. Not even a courtesy call from them. BTW I brought the car in when they opened that day. The car was finally ready at 5pm the next day. Never again at McKenna for service. However, I did get my A4 from them (traded in the 90q). The person I dealt with was Chris P. but he eventually quit McKenna. He now works for Beverly Hills Porsche/Audi.
