I don't wax often and would like to know of an easy but good wax product. Don't want to spend hours trying to rub off hard wax either.
Are there any effective spray on and wipe off waxes?
BTW, it's a Silver 2.8
thanks

I am a big fan of Zymol, but some say Zymol lasts about as long as it takes to put it on. So if you don't like to wax often, I would go with the Meguiars Gold Class Clear Coat Car Wax in the liquid form. Goes on quickly and buffs off quickly and seems to last quite a while. I used to use Meguiars before switching to Zymol.

http://www.meguiars.com/</a

This stuff is great! Easy on, easy off and my A4 looks fantastic. Seems to hold-up better than the Meguiar's liquid wax I've used in the past. It's also not too expensive but it can be difficult to track-down in most auto parts stores, so you may want to purchase on-line. Here's what Car Care Specialties says about Blitz Wax:
BLITZ WAX...A quality Carnauba wax that produces a deep, durable shine and protects against the harmful elements. Contains no cleaners or abrasives. Easy to apply and easy to remove, yet long lasting. This is my favorite wax for most applications.
Here's a picture of my 2 year old A4 with approx. 35,000 miles on it (not garaged) right after I waxed it.

Blitz wax is great. easy off, and it doesn't leave icky wax marks one your black trim if you are a bit sloppy.
Looks great too.
Lasts quite a while, also. I go about 1 month between waxes, and it could really go quite a bit longer, but I'm anal:)

I have tried all waxes ever since i got my A4. i was after the best shine and long lasting gloss.
first wax i used was Zymol Fantasy it gave it a wounderfull luster but didn't last long on summer days. then i switched to Maguires gold class this was not as good as zymol but was longer lasting.
the last wax i tried was Blitz then finnaly Groit's carnuba. i waxed my car every week for 1 month with each wax. i noticed that the Groit's seems to provide the best shine the more coats the better.
Then i read in the Corvette forum about Ziano. this stuff is simply amazing!!!!!!! you apply Z1 then directly apply Z2 then let it haze. just by the first coat the paint was gleeming. after the second coat the color got a deeper shine after the thrid coat it gave it a mile deep shine in the shade or under the sun. This wax is applied thin but leaves a very very very thick wax coating on top of the paint. i am up to my 5th coat of Ziano and i think i will stop now cause after the third coat i did not get any more appealing results. so far it has been 2 mo since the last coat and it still beads like crazy.
What impresses me is that this wax is very very good..... so good that if you have a bird dropping from any type of bird just let running water run through it and it will drift off w/o a spot.
check it out the bottle of Z1(cleaner is $8.95) and Z2 is (wax 12.95). i ordered 4 bottles of Z2 just incase this company goes belly up.

interesting info about car care and different waxes, etc
I guess deep-down I'm a detailing-junkie. I admit that I'm really curious about the Zaino Brothers products and also the collonite wax that has been mentioned from time-to-time on this forum. But I really have no complaints with the Blitz wax and the tin will probably last me a few years so I probably should just stick with what works for me.
I should also mention that I used Meguiar's clay and then 3M Imperial Hand Glaze prior to topping it off with the Blitz Wax. Some of that deep shine is probably attributable to 3M's product.

I've never tried Zymol, but I've always been a big fan of Meguirs. My '84 Saab with 122k miles looked like a brand new car after a polish with Meguirs Mirror Glaze and frequent waxings with Meguirs Cleaner Wax.
My '96 Integra had the nicest color, but the WORST paint job I have ever seen on a car. That car was a major chore to wax. And in dark purple, it looked really bad when it got dirty.
Meguirs Gold Class liquid made the car look spectacular. But it was so sticky, it was difficult to buff out.
Now that I've got a '98 A4 in Pelican Blue, I tried Gold Class paste wax. It looks just as beautiful as the liquid (probably better), and it went on just as easy, and came off even easier than the liquid wax.
Maybe one day I'll try Zymol. But I am really happy with Meguirs. I see no reason to switch.
